Resource for Malaria Awareness Day April 25, 2007

"Jesus Christ is bigger than anything we will ever face," says Elaine Richardson of South Africa, one of twenty-four writers in Prayers for Encouragement.

Published by Upper Room Ministries, Prayers for Encouragement is a tremendously useful resource for churches joining with Upper Room Covenant Prayer groups or organizing noon worship services in observance of Malaria Awareness Day, April 25, 2007.

"This prayer resource is also a valuable tie-in to the denomination's Nothing But Nets campaign," says Karen Greenwaldt, GBOD top executive.

"The pocket prayer booklet shares hope and encouragement for people suffering with serious diseases, including malaria and HIV and AIDS."

As the name of the booklet implies, Prayers for Encouragement: Hope for Persons with HIV and AIDS, Malaria, Tuberculosis, and Other Serious Diseases, Upper Room Ministries anticipates this small, portable booklet will offer readers strength, encouragement, and hope.

Modeled after The Upper Room daily devotional guide, a bi-monthly devotional guide that has been in publication since 1935 and is written by its readers, meditations and prayers appearing in Prayers for Encouragement are written by persons who are or have been affected by malaria, HIV and AIDS and other serious diseases.

The booklet is being distributed through Upper Room Ministries' global editorial and distribution network. For more information contact, Dale Rust Waymack at dwaymack@gbod.org; 877-899-2780, ext. 7236.
